How Our Custom Commissions Work

How Our Custom Commissions Work
We love making custom work. If you have a piece in mind, here's what the process looks like. 1. Tell us your idea Fill in our custom request form. Be as detailed as you can: dimensions, shape, colour ideas, finish, texture and any inspiration or reference images. A rough sketch is welcome too. 2. We talk it through We'll get back to you to chat about your design, the price and the timing. Artists aren't photocopiers, so we can use your reference as a starting point for style and vibe, but your piece will be a unique original. 3. Payment and production Payment is due when you accept the order. Orders under R10,000 are paid in full, and larger orders need an 80% deposit, with the remaining 20% due before collection or dispatch. Materials are only ordered once payment has been received. 4. Making and firing Custom orders take up to 6 weeks, as long as there are no delays. Drying and two firings take time, and glaze colours can change in the kiln, so final colours can't be guaranteed. 5. Collection or delivery You can collect from our George studio, or arrange a courier. If your piece needs special packaging for shipping, we'll issue a separate packaging invoice. Ready to start? Head to our custom requests page and tell us what you'd like us to make.
