A handmade piece is made to be used and loved every day. A little care goes a long way, and here's how to keep your ceramics looking their best. Washing Our functional pieces are safe for the dishwasher and the microwave, but hand-washing is always recommended to keep the glaze looking vibrant for decades. A note on metallics Pieces with gold lustre or metallic accents are not microwave safe, so keep those out of the microwave unless you enjoy an indoor light show. We don't usually use these unless they're part of a custom order. Everyday habits Avoid sudden temperature changes, like pouring boiling water into a very cold mug. Stack pieces with a soft cloth or paper between them so glazed rims don't chip. Basins Wipe your basin with a soft cloth and a mild cleaner. Avoid harsh abrasives, which can dull the glaze over time.
